The season finale of ABC’s “The Bachelor” aired Monday night, revealing which woman Bachelor Ben Flajnik chose.
Ben, a 29-year-old Sonoma winemaker, had the difficult choice of proposing to either 27-year-old business development manager Lindzi Cox or 28-year-old Ford model Courtney Robertson.
After weeks of dates and despite concerns of Courtney’s behavior with towards the other women in the house, Ben proposed to Courtney Robertson with a Neil Lane ring in Switzerland.
“Yes, of course I will,” Courtney said when Ben proposed. “I love you so much. Oh my gosh, Ben. Beautiful. I love it. I will love you forever.”
But once the show started to air, Ben began to see the Courtney that everyone else saw, and he didn’t like it. The couple split and didn’t talk for a period of time.
On the The Bachelor‘s After the Final Rose special Monday night the couple said they are still working on things.
“We’re engaged. We’re in a good place,” Ben said. “Now that the main part of the show, and all the negativity is gone, it can only get better … The root of the problem was us not being able to be with each other and talk about these things.”
