The first concert of Justin Bieber’s European promo tour for his new album, Believe, created extreme chaos in Oslo, Norway Wednesday.
Fans got out of control before the concert, chasing after a car presumed to be transporting Bieber to the concert location. The crazed fans ignored police warnings and caused a spike in mobile usage that briefly crippled cellular service in the city.
Police reportedly threatened to cancel the concert, but Bieber took to Twitter to calm his fans so he could proceed with the show.
“Please listen to the police. I don’t want anyone getting hurt. I want everything to go to plan but your safety must come first,” Bieber tweeted. “For the show to happen u must all listen to the police. We are all concerned for your safety and I want what is best for u. Please listen.”
The fans listened to Bieber and the show started just a half hour later than scheduled.
