Actress Amanda Bynes was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs on Tuesday in relation to her arrest on April 6.
The 26-year-old actress was pulled over and arrested on April 6, 2012, after allegedly sideswiping a police car in her BMW when making a right turn at 3 a.m. in West Hollywood.
Bynes claimed she was not drinking and refused the Breathalyzer and drug test the night she was arrested.
“I don’t drink,” Bynes, said in a Tweet to the Barack Obama presidential campaign. “Please fire the cop who arrested me.”
If Bynes is convicted she faces a maximum penalty as a first-time offender of 48 hours in jail, three years probation and a nine-month alcohol program. She could also lose her driver’s license for a year.
