The Bachelorette Finale aired Sunday night – a night of anticipation as Emily Maynard was faced with the tough choice of choosing between race car driver Arie Luyendyk and entrepreneur Jef Holm.
Emily’s family came to Curacao to meet Ari and Jef. Emily was hoping her family would give her clarity as to who she should choose, but they all said they would be happy to have either man part of the family. Emily then went on her date with Jef and she agreed to let him meet her 7-year-old daughter, Ricki. Emily expressed concern over letting more than one man meet Ricki, but she didn’t have to worry about that since after her date with Jef, she decided he was the one.
In a twist of events, Emily decided to send Ari home before her date with him and before the rose ceremony. Ari was clearly stunned and was not expecting this.
“I still believe she is the love of my life. It’s so painful. I can’t believe this is it,” Ari said as the car drove away after the breakup.
At the rose ceremony Emily revealed to Jef that she sent Ari home the day before.
“That’s amazing. That’s the best thing I’ve ever heard,” Jef said of the news.
After saying he was the luckiest man in the world, Jef got down on one knee and asked Emily to marry him. After what seemed like an eternity, Emily said yes!
Ricki then joined the couple in the courtyard.
