Mariah Carey, who just signed an 18 million deal with American Idol, will reportedly be the highest paid judge on any reality show.
The 42-year-old iconic singer announced Monday that she would be the new judge on American Idol.
“I am so excited to be joining Idol,” Mariah Carey said on the phone. “First of all, I wanted to be there today and I wish I could’ve been there to tell you, but I think you know this all kind of just happened real quickly, so I can’t wait to get started in a couple months.”
A source says she will be paid $18 million for the season: “Her deal is rumored to be just under $18 million for one year with an option to renew.”
Other high-paid reality TV judges include Christina Aguilera, who will reportedly make about $10 million on the third season of The Voice, and Howard Stern, who is said to make $15 million for his first season judging America’s Got Talent.
