The 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards took place Sunday, January, 16, 2011 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Ricky Gervais hosted the event, starting the show off by poking fun at movies like The Tourist and actor Charlie Sheen.

Winners, chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, included Boardwalk Empire, The Social Network and Glee.
Robert De Niro was honored with the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award, which was presented by Matt Damon.

The 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards Nominees were announced Wednesday, December 14, with the most nominations going to The King’s Speech, The Social Network, The Fighter and Glee.

The King’s Speech, a British film, led in number of nominations with seven. Close behind were The Social Network and The Fighter, both with six nominations. Glee received 5 nominations in the TV category and Johnny Depp picked up two nominations in the same category for best actor in a motion picture comedy or musical.
