Blake Shelton Anti-Gay Tweet Causes Uproar

Country star Blake Shelton, who is currently a judge and mentor on the new NBC singing show The Voice, made a joke on Twitter last night that caused an uproar in the gay community.

The Tweet that quickly labeled Shelton as homophobic read: “Re-writing my fav Shania Twain song.. Any man that tries Touching my behind He’s gonna be a beaten, bleedin’, heaving kind of guy…”

GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) demanded an apology from 34-year-old Shelton, posting on their blog Thursday: “This is one of the judges on what’s so far been one of the most gay-friendly reality shows on television. For him to make a joke to his 300-thousand-plus followers about leaving a gay man ‘beaten, bleeding and heaving’ is completely unacceptable.” +Continue Reading

Blake Shelton Final Music Coach on ‘The Voice’

Country music’s Male Vocalist of The Year Blake Shelton has been named the fourth and final musician coach of The Voice, a new musical competition series on NBC.

Christina Aguilera was named the third coach last week, making the complete coaching team for The Voice Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton.
